Урок в 10-м классе.

Цели и задачи урока:

Практические:

-совершенствовать навыки чтения с полным пониманием прочитанного;

-формировать навыки аудирования с последующим заполнением таблицы;

Развивающие:

-развивать навыки языковой догадки и умения пользоваться изученной лексикой;

-развивать способности к осмысленности восприятия.

Воспитательные:

-воспитывать чувства дружбы и уважительного отношения к близким людям.

Оборудование: учебник английского языка для 10 класса О.А.Афанасьевой, И.В.Михеевой, доска, магнитофон.

Ход урока.

I. Организационный момент.

Teacher: Good morning, students! I am very glad to see you and hope that you are ready for the lesson and you are in a good mood. Today we’re going to speak about the greatest Russian writer A.P.Chekhov, read the extract his novel “The Darling” and discuss it.

I I. Warming-up.

There is a saying about kindness. Let’s read and translate it.

A good heart’s worth gold.

How do you understand it? Do you share this opinion? Why?

III. Развитие речевых умений.

Teacher:

1. What do you know about A.P.Chekhov?

2. Have you ever read his books?

3. Think of three questions you would like to ask about A.P.Chekhov. Then, read the biography and see if you can answer them ( ex.1, p.52).

4. Students read their questions and discuss the biography.

IV. Основной этап урока.

1.Описание картинки(стр.52)

The picture on p.52 shows Olenka and Sasha. How are they related?

What do you think about the young woman? / a boy? Can you describe their character? What are Olenka and Sasha doing? What will be the text about?

2.Просмотровое чтение текста(ex.3, p.52).

Read the extract, seven sentences have been removed. Match each sentence (A-G) to the appropriate gap (1-7).Which words helped you decided?

A. Olenka followed him noiselessly.

B. She would fall asleep still thinking of the same things, and tears would roll down her cheeks from her closed eyes.

C. His mother left on a visit to her sister in Kharkov and never came back.

D. How is a little fellow to do all that?

E.I can go the rest of the way myself.

-What can you say about his character?

-What is the idea of the text?

5.Работа по группам.

Класс делится на две группы.

Task 1.Match the highlighted words in the text with their meaning below.

Using a dictionary, explain the words in bold. Use each word in a sentence of you own.

Task 2. Look at the list of emotions and feelings below.

Sasha comes home one day and tells his aunt he wants to go and live with his mother in Kharkov. How would he say this? How might Olenka react? In pairs, write a short dialogue, then act it out for the class.
