Tenses (active and passive)
Put the verbs in brackets in the correct tenses.
The Chinese New Year festivities (1) (hold)____ at the end of January or beginning of February for a period of one month. During this time Chinese people (2) (celebrate)____ the end of the winter season.
Preparations (3) (begin)____ in December when shops (4) (fill) ____ with people buying gifts. Buying new shoes is extremely important because (5) (believe) ____ that if you (6) (walk) ____ in old shoes in New Year’s Day, you (7) (have) ____ bad luck.
