8. In cartoons, these animals are usually slow, happy and funny. But real animals are very aggressive, and are certainly more dangerous than lions and tigers. They are very heavy – some are about 3,000 kilograms. But they can run very fast and swim well, and they don't like people. They kill more people in Africa than any other animal.
9. When people think of dangerous animals in the sea, they usually think of sharks. But sharks hardly ever kill people. The most dangerous sea animal is not very big. It is a very small sea animal. The body of this sea animal is about 20 centimeters long. But it has got about 60 tentacles – and they are about three metres long. One of these tentacles can kill a human very quickly. It swims in the seas around Australia from October to April. When they are there, nobody goes swimming.
10. The animal with the most dangerous bite is not a snake or a lion. It is an insect and you can find it all over the world. They give malaria to over 300 million people every year, and about three million people die. Forty per cent of the world's population are always in danger of malaria from these insects. It is the world's most dangerous animal – and it is one of the smallest.

When they are babies, they are only about 20 centimetres long but they grow very fast. The biggest of them are over six metres long and are very heavy – about 1,000 kilograms. They can live for 70–80 years. They live near rivers. They are very aggressive and dangerous. Their legs are very short but they can run quickly and swim very fast too.

They are found on the continents of North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Common characteristics of modern animals include large bodies with stocky legs, long snouts, shaggy hair, paws with five claws, and short tails. They have been hunted since prehistoric times for their meat and fur. To this day, they play a prominent role in the arts, mythology and other cultural aspects of various human societies.
