Task 3. You are going to give a talk about the Internet. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and speak for not more than 2 minutes (10-12 sentences).

• what people use the Internet for

• what educational opportunities the Internet offers to students

• whether the Internet can be harmful for users and why

• what your attitude to the Internet is

You have to talk continuously.

Проблемы:

• план высказывания («сигнальные» фразы);

• решение коммуникативной задачи (содержание высказывания); логическая связность высказывания («переходные» предложения, межфразовое единство, слова-связки);

• лексико-грамматическая правильность высказывания (синонимы, простые глагольные формы);

• стиль высказывания (краткие формы, разговорная лексика); хронометраж высказывания (четыре пункта плана за 2 мин.).

Introduction

I am going to give a talk about the Internet as it is an interesting topic to discuss. To begin with, it is impossible to imagine our life without the Internet nowadays.

• what people use the Internet for

The Internet plays a big role in people's life nowadays. It provides countless opportunities for everything. For example, people use the Internet for work, communication and for entertainment. We communicate with each other by the Internet, I mean Skype, and different messengers like WhatsApp or Viber. It helps to stay in touch with friends and colleagues, find and share information, watch films, read books and play games online. Personally, I can’t imagine modern life without the Internet. We buy train tickets through the Internet. A lot of people watch Internet Television. It’s in every sphere of our life. As for me, I use Skype to talk with my friends and relatives. I correspond with my friends and watch different movies on-line.

• what educational opportunities the Internet offers to students

As for educational opportunities, they are really wide, thanks to the Internet. Students can find all necessary information online, they can take different courses and communicate with teachers and peers all over the world. It is very convenient to check many sources of information at the same time you can also download special programmes for creating projects or presentations. The Internet helps me a lot with my studies. I find there plenty of useful information I need for my lessons.  Moreover, I ask questions about different school subjects on-line.

• whether the Internet can be harmful for users and why

Unfortunately, teenagers can face some dangers when they use the Internet.  (It is not as safe as we wish it were). There are some criminals who can get your private information and use in in criminal aims. Secondly, some teenagers get addicted to the Internet because they spend all their free time playing computer games. Moreover, theit eyesight gets worse. Parents must keep an eye on their children and do not let them to become a victim of technologies.

• what your attitude to the Internet is

To sum up my ideas, in my opinion, the Internet makes our life better in many ways, but it has as advantages and disadvantages that’s why people should used it wisely.
