Introduction.

For each person, the most dear place on Earth is his Motherland, where he was born, grew up, where people close to him live. For us, this is our city Artem.

Every day we walk along the familiar streets of our city, hurrying on business. Often we do not notice things that seem ordinary to us, but in fact are fraught with great cultural and historical value. We can learn about the historical past of our people from history books, films, stories of elders and teachers. And the monuments that exist in our city can also tell us a lot about the historical past.

We exchanged views with classmates, but it turned out that many of us do not know the monuments of our city.

There are many monuments in our city, but people know little about their history, not all monuments are known to the inhabitants of our city, and they know even less about the events in honor of which these monuments were erected.

Monuments, like people, have their own destiny. Popular rumor says: "Without knowing the past, one cannot live in the present." Love for the motherland begins with love for the native city. Our city is connected with many great events and interesting people. That is why it was important for us to deal with the issue of studying the history of the creation of monuments that keep the memory of events and people, it is important that people remember history.This is how the idea of the research project "Monuments of the City of Artem" was born.

The purpose of the project: To expand the idea that the native city is famous for its history, traditions, sights.

Object of study: monuments of the city of Artem.

Subject of study: the history of the creation of the monument to the city of Artem.

Project product: booklet and presentation "Monuments of the city of Artem"

In this regard, the following tasks have been set:

1. Define the concept of "monument of culture";

2. Consider the functions of monuments, their properties and characteristic features;

3. Consider the cultural monuments of the Artemovsky urban district;

4. To study the history of the creation of the monument in the village. Knevichi;

5. Prepare a booklet and presentation "Monuments of the city of Artem".

1. The concept and classification of cultural monuments

Monuments of culture are the works of human hands, ancient objects, tools and structures preserved on the earth's surface, under a layer of earth or under water. According to them, scientists restore the past of human society. The main monuments of material culture: tools, weapons, household utensils, clothes, jewelry, settlements (cities, settlements, settlements) and individual dwellings, ancient fortifications and hydraulic structures, roads, mine workings and workshops, burial grounds, drawings on rocks, sunken ancient ships and their cargoes, etc.

The oldest monuments are archaeological: sites are the remains of the settlements of an ancient man. Usually they are located on the banks of rivers, lakes, seas. Over the past centuries, the most ancient sites have been discovered - Paleolithic - buried under a layer of sand, clay, soil so deeply that it is difficult to detect them. It is easier to find later ones - Neolithic ones: they are often washed away by water, and they are partially exposed. Land containing traces of human activity is called a cultural layer. It contains ash, coal from fires, garbage, construction waste, household items, etc. The cultural layer is clearly visible in outcrops against the background of sands and clays. Here you can find flint products with pointed edges, ceramics - clay shards, bones of animals and fish, bone and bronze products.

Settlement - the remains of an ancient fortified settlement, located on the hills. There are ramparts and ditches near the settlement. Here you can find interesting metal products - bronze, copper, iron.Around the settlements there was an unfortified settlement - a settlement. Often there are cemeteries - ancient burials and burial mounds. Mines and workshops abound with various tools of ancient production. The main task of the local historian is the search, research and registration of historical and archaeological monuments unknown and known to science. Excavations are carried out by archaeologists. Until now, in different parts of our country (in the Urals, the Caucasus, in the Baikal region, in Chukotka, etc.), drawings of an ancient person are found on rocks or in caves. They depict figures of animals and people, hunting scenes, fantastic creatures. Such drawings are invaluable for science, for the knowledge of ancient history and art.

Architectural monuments are also subject to protection - the creations of architects, which are part of the cultural heritage of the country, the people. These are buildings for various purposes: churches, cathedrals, monasteries, chapels, cemeteries, towers, walls, palaces, parks, mansions, public buildings, dumas (town halls), wonderful residential buildings, estates, noble and merchant houses, peasant huts and other buildings. Each of them has its own history, closely connected with the history of the region. They are studied not only as monuments of the history of the people, but also as examples of architectural art. So, white-stone cathedrals - examples of ancient Russian architecture - captivate with the elegance of forms; the architectural structures of Central Asia, the Baltic states, etc. are full of national originality.

Among the monuments of folk art are decorative ornaments, art crafts and oral folk art (folklore). In addition to studying buildings as architectural monuments, a young local historian gets acquainted with the decorations of houses, for example, with carvings decorating cornices, window and door frames, roof ridges, shutters on windows, and porches. The old type of carving is characteristic, “deaf”, when the pattern is not cut through; its main motifs are vegetable, sometimes birds, less often animals. A later type of carving is a consignment note, sawn through. In the south of Russia, in Ukraine and in Belarus, painting is often found on the outside of the walls of houses and stoves.

Folk applied art, or artistic crafts, arose in ancient times. Already primitive man tried to decorate his life, to create not only practical, but also beautiful clothes, dishes, utensils. The skill of artists from the people has been improved for centuries. Wood carving, folk jewelry art, porcelain and glass making achieve high skill. From ancient times, stone-cutters were also famous. At the end of the XVIII century. lacquer business arose in Russia (the famous villages of Fedoskino, Palekh, Kholuy, Mstera). Chukchi folk craftsmen are famous for their drawings on walrus tusks, the inhabitants of the Caucasus are famous for their patterned sheep wool carpets, Uzbek craftsmen for stone carving, etc.

Local historians collect information about folk art and its samples in each locality of their region. One should not strive to look only for rare, exceptional creations; one should also pay attention to those typical for a given village.This will help to identify local features, traditions, craftsmanship. It is interesting to find old masters and find out facts from the history of the craft, to identify the range of products in the past, how and where they were sold, etc. When and at what age did the old masters die, what did they create, do the old people remember the history of the origin of the craft, are there any legends on this topic? Information on the technology of production of products in the past is especially important. How was the high quality of work achieved? All this and many other information will be of real value if young local historians first familiarize themselves with the relevant literature.

Finally, there is oral folk art - folklore, which is studied by the science of folklore. It explores verbal, song, musical (instrumental), choreographic, dramatic and other collective creativity of the masses. The task of local historians is to collect works of local creativity of all genres: tales, fairy tales, epics, songs, ditties, lamentations, charms, riddles, proverbs, sayings, folk drama. How to record? It is important to observe the accuracy of the recording, word for word, without cutting, releasing or redoing anything. They write down all repetitions, interjections, otherwise the rhythm, the special coloring of the story, will be broken; one should not miss all the features of the local dialect. Since it is very difficult to have time to record, they often resort to the help of a voice recorder. The narrator's speech should not be interrupted by questions or remarks.A prerequisite is to write down information about the performer (last name, first name, patronymic, nationality, age, local resident or visitor, specialty, literacy, address). It is important to know from whom the performer learned his art.

Monument to V.I. Lenin

Monument of history, date of creation - 1870-1924.

Location: Primorsky Krai, Artem, about 11 meters north of the building on the street. Kirova, 48

An architectural monument of our city is the Palace of Culture of Coal Miners.

The harbinger of the Palace of Culture of Coal Miners was the club. S. Schwartz, named after Semyon Schwartz, an active participant in the revolutionary movement and ally of the famous party leader of the CPSU (b) F.A. Sergeev (Artyom). Built by the hands of the Artyomovites in 1927, it was the subject of their pride. The club existed until 1954.

The city grew and the old wooden club was already becoming small and cramped for him. At a rally in honor of the 30th anniversary of October, a decision was announced to build a new, but now not a club, but a Coal Miners' Palace of Culture. Then, in 1947, the first stone was laid at the site of the future construction. The country is still in ruins after the Great Patriotic War, and in the far outback a decision is made on a great construction site, in memory of the heroic work of the miners who contributed to the Great Victory.

In record time, the department at the former trust "Artyomugol" developed a project. Its author was the sculptor Vladimir Ivanovich Urushadze. The project was approved by high authorities and construction began already in 1948. Work on the construction of the building was entrusted to the construction office of the trust "Artyomugol".

On the eve of the holiday on November 7, 1954, the Palace of Culture of Coal Miners opened its doors. On December 1 of the same year, the complex was officially put into operation. The total cost of all work performed is estimated at about 20 million rubles. in 1963 prices. There is no analogue of such a building in the Far East.

Monument-memorial to the Artyom soldiers who fell in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945

On the second day of the war, half of the slaughter group and a third of other underground workers did not appear at the city's mines.In just one day, June 24, 1941, the city military commissariat received 116 applications with a request to send volunteers to the front.

In the initial period of the war, 2425 Artyomovites went to the front, 1764 of them died. In memory of the Artyomovites who fought the enemy on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War in 1972, a memorial complex was created near the Palace of Culture. The memorial includes the Eternal Flame, a monument to soldiers and memorial plates, where the names of 1764 Artemovites are immortalized.

In 2019, the city administration decided on a major renovation of the complex. About 19.3 million rubles were allocated from the local budget for these purposes. During the auction, the amount of the municipal contract amounted to 18.8 million rubles. The contractor started work on September 18, completed work in early December.

In two months, the pantheon bowl was completely renewed. In the renovated memorial complex, commemorative granite slabs were installed, on which the names of the soldiers were arranged in alphabetical order. Another innovation is the installation of plates made in the form of a bas-relief in color.

It is symbolic that the opening of the memorial complex took place on December 9, the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland.

Monument to F.A. Sergeev (Artyom) was established on March 19, 1983, on the day of the centenary of the birth of the revolutionary, whose name our city bears. Artyom is the party nickname of Fyodor Andreevich Sergeev (1883-1921), a professional revolutionary, Lenin's ally. The memory of him was actively maintained thanks to many years of contacts with his son F.A. Sergeev - Artyom Fedorovich Sergeev, who repeatedly visited our city in 1975, 1998 and 2007. After his death, the baton of friendship with the city was taken over by the grandson of F.A. Sergeeva Ruben.

At present, the area around the monument to F.A. Sergeev has turned into a picturesque square, which has become a favorite vacation spot for citizens.

Bust of General N.A. Ostryakov

Born May 17, 1911 in Moscow in a working class family. In 1932 he was enrolled as a cadet in a civilian pilot school. In 1934 he was drafted into the Red Army. Among the first group of Soviet paratroopers in 1935, N.A. Ostryakov was awarded the title "Master of Parachuting of the USSR". In 1935 he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. In 1936 he fought in Spain. He was awarded two Orders of the Red Banner. In April 1939 N.A. Ostryakov arrived in the Pacific Fleet as an air unit commander, and then was appointed deputy commander of the air forces of the Pacific Fleet. Sevastopol experienced a difficult time. The Nazis were preparing to storm the city. In this difficult situation, the talent of the young Soviet military leader was especially clearly manifested. More than once he personally led pilots to carry out missions, participated in air battles, and was in the most dangerous areas. Black Sea pilots have always seen in the person of their commander an example of selfless service to the Motherland. From October 1941 to April 1942 he made 100 sorties. On April 20, 1942, Major General Ostryakov took part in a fierce air battle with enemy fighters. This was his last dogfight. April 24, 1942 N.A. Ostryakov died in the performance of a combat mission.

The monument was opened in 1995.

Monument to the miners of the Dalnevostochnaya mine, who fell during the Great Patriotic War.

During the Great Patriotic War, many miners - Artyomovites stood up to defend their homeland. In memory of the heroes - fellow countrymen who gave their lives for the freedom of the Fatherland, on August 28, 1970, a monument-obelisk was opened on the territory of the 3-ts mine in the form of a narrow four-sided truncated pyramid topped with a five-pointed star.

In 2016, the monument to the miners was repaired by the non-profit partnership "Miner's Union of the city of Artyom". Now the once abandoned territory has turned into a picturesque square with sidewalks lined with paving stones and benches for rest. The monument itself has been transformed. A new commemorative plaque was installed with the inscription: "To the miners - soldiers of the 3-ts mine, who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our Motherland on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."

The building of the former church of St. Mother of God

(Holy Intercession Church)

The temple in honor of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Uglovoe is a monument of the cultural heritage of the Primorsky Territory.

On October 14, 1903, in the village of Uglovoe, the consecration of the foundation stone of the church was held by His Grace Eusebius, Bishop of Vladivostok and Kamchatka. Construction was carried out at the expense of migrants, peasants and miners.

In 1909, the temple was built and its throne was consecrated on January 28, 1910 by His Grace Eusebius, Bishop of Vladivostok and Kamchatka in honor of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos.

In 1913, by decree of the Holy Synod (No. 2105 of January 31, 1913), an independent parish was opened, which functioned until the 1930s.

In 1935, the bell tower was destroyed, the dome was removed from the temple, an attempt was made to destroy the church building, then it was converted into a cinema "Mir". Since 1972, the building has not been used at all.

By the decision of the city executive committee of the city of Artem dated May 25, 1990, the building of the former cinema "Mir" was transferred to the community of the Russian Orthodox Church for the restoration and restoration of the temple and the adjacent territory.

Under the first rector of the temple, Priest Victor (Heavenly), divine services were resumed and work began on clearing the rubble of a very badly destroyed church.

Appointed by the decree of Bishop Veniamin on March 7, 1997, the rector of the temple, Priest Sergiy Biryuk, with the blessing of the ruling bishop, began work on the restoration and restoration of the Intercession Church.

During the years of Soviet power, all drawings and photographs of the building were lost.The PrimNIIproekt team, under the leadership of the chief architect Valery Nikolaevich Demidov, developed a project for the reconstruction and restoration of the temple. Since 1997, the temple has been gradually acquiring a modern look.

On July 5, 2000, after the restoration of the main arch, the consecration of the main dome and the cross of the temple took place by the archbishop of Vladivostok and Primorsky Veniamin, followed by a rise and installation on the main drum of the Intercession Church.

On April 8, 2006, upon completion of the construction of the bell tower, the archbishop of Vladivostok and Primorsky Veniamin consecrated a set of bells cast at the Moscow plant of the Litex company, after which they were raised and installed on the bell tower. The weight of the largest bell (Blagovest) is about 1640 kg (100 pounds).

On June 13, 2011, the restored temple was again solemnly consecrated by the Great Order by Archbishop Veniamin of Vladivostok and Primorsky.

On April 19, 2015, on the week of Fomin (Antipascha), Metropolitan Veniamin consecrated a new iconostasis of the temple (made of artificial stone).

Restoration and design work on the restoration of the Intercession Church continues, as a result of which the church is becoming more and more majestic. The restoration is being carried out on voluntary donations from the parishioners of the church and all those who are not indifferent to the historical and spiritual heritage of the inhabitants of Primorsky Krai.

Monument to the inhabitants of the village. Artemovsky, who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War.

It was built in 1985 in memory of fellow countrymen who fell on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Opened in the year of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It has the status of an object of cultural heritage of regional significance.

Monument to fellow villagers who gave their lives for their Motherland in 1941-1945.

The object of cultural heritage of regional importance "Monument to fellow villagers who gave their lives for their Motherland in 1941 - 1945", 1985, (object address: Primorsky Territory, Artem, Knevichi village, Pervaya St.) was taken under state protection as monument of history and culture in accordance with the Decision of the Executive Committee of the Primorsky Regional Council of People's Deputies of February 27, 1987 No. 125. In accordance with Article 64 of the Federal Law of June 25, 2002 No. 73-FZ "On objects of cultural heritage (monuments of history and culture) of the peoples of the Russian Federation » the object is included in the unified state register of cultural heritage objects (monuments of history and culture) of the peoples of the Russian Federation as a cultural heritage object of regional significance. By order of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation No. 137008-r dated December 20, 2017 “On registration of an object of cultural heritage of regional significance “Monument to fellow villagers who gave their lives for their Motherland in 1941-1945”, 1985 (Primorsky Territory) in the unified state register of cultural objects heritage (monuments of history and culture) of the peoples of the Russian Federation” is registered in the unified state register of objects of cultural heritage (monuments of history and culture) of the peoples of the 6th Russian Federation as a monument with registration number 251711302920005.

The monument was erected in 1985 in the year of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Victory in memory of fellow villagers who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War according to the project of the sculptor K.I. Timoev.

In the village of Knevichi around the monument to fellow villagers who gave their lives for their homeland in 1941-1945., a beautiful, well-maintained square appeared. In the place where there was a swampy wasteland that served as a garbage dump and a pasture for local cows, on the initiative of the residents, work was carried out to improve the territory.

The Government of the Primorsky Territory announced a competition for the implementation of socially significant programs in the territory of the Territory. The main condition of this competition was the direct participation of local residents in the improvement and organization of cultural and leisure activities. According to the territorial administration of the village of Knevichi, a group of residents was the author of the project "We Remember" to create a comfortable place for leisure activities and various events and actions of a patriotic orientation. The project was recognized as socially significant and received support from the regional subsidies.

Currently, the base of the stage has been backfilled, and the territory has been planned. After the installation of the fence near the monument, flower beds were laid out and shrubs were planted. Landscaping of the territory is currently underway, in particular, a large spruce tree has been planted with the participation of local residents. On April 28, as part of the “Garden of Memory” campaign, coniferous trees were planted on the territory of the monument.

The project for the improvement of the former wasteland turned out to be truly popular. Sergey Efimovich, Maksim and Roman Zagorodnie, Roman Prisyazhnyuk, Ilya Voloshchenko, Andrey Kopych, who lived in the vicinity of the monument, actively joined in the beautification of the area, diverted water, leveled the ground, and planted trees. “We live here, and this was our initiative,” Maxim Zagorodniy and Andrey Kopych said.- Together with the administration, we took up this matter and began work. The head of the territorial administration, Sergei Kvashnin, is helping. Our neighbor, Roman Prisyazhnyuk, lives near the territory of the monument. He began to ennoble the wasteland next to his site. Together we dug the drainage, made a layout for the site where the stage is now, removed a large garbage dump in the wasteland, planted trees and shrubs. An alley of birches was planted along the road. Leonid Saloponov helped land the Christmas trees, he was a teacher of life safety at the Knevichan school. The memorial is very important for the village, there are not many places for recreation. And it is very useful for children to see that adults are taking care of the monument, honoring the memory of the war. Our students have already planted trees and flowers here. Now there is a stage in the square where concerts and a summer cinema are held.

The monument to fellow villagers who gave their lives for their Motherland in 1941-1945 is very important for the patriotic upbringing of children. It’s not enough to tell children about the war, you need to show by example that we protect monuments, put things in order on our streets, and honor the memory of our ancestors.

Conclusion.

Passing by this or that monument, you think, remember, you are surprised. It turns out that many historical events did not pass by our city. The cultural heritage that we have inherited must be kept in order, to ensure that the monuments are not destroyed. After all, you cannot build the future without knowing your past.

Our task is not only to keep the monuments in order, but to know the history of our people, city, region and pass this knowledge on to descendants.

They are a reminder of our rich history, they are a link with our ancestors. After all, human wisdom says: "Only the country in which people remember their past is worthy of the future."

"Until a person touches history, he remains in infancy, for he exists today. Each generation leaves the fruits of its labor and mental activity, but how much does this heritage mean if the connection of times is interrupted, and we fail to pass on historical memory to our descendants? "- these are the lines from the book by S. Bakhmustov "The Broken Necklace".

Our city, though small, but each of its inhabitants can be proud of history, their fellow countrymen who left a mark on this history. And to tell about how people lived, what they thought and dreamed about, what they did - to convey this story to us, is intended for monuments. We, children, should know about the monuments of our city, and therefore about its history. I would like the city authorities to remember this too and not only take measures to preserve existing monuments, but also create new ones.
