Sports Palace "Burtasy" was built in 2008 and is one of the largest centers of sports and rhythmic gymnastics in Russia. On its territory there is a modern base for training camps, there are all conditions for combining accommodation, food and training in one place. Besides, doors of DS "Burtasy" are always open for citizens and, in particular, for inhabitants of the residential district of Arbekovo, the most densely populated area of Penza, for maintenance and development of a healthy lifestyle and introduction of youth to sports. Arbekovo is a promising area with developed infrastructure. Good transport accessibility, banks, cellular shops, pharmacies, restaurants, cafes, a number of major shopping centers.

Palace of sports "Burtasy" has significantly expanded the capabilities of our school of gymnastics. In "Burtas" is a large gym gymnastics with a competitive platform Jansen Fritsen. Here are the arena, the size of 72х33 meters ( 1700 seats) for rhythmic gymnastics.

The opening of the Palace of sports took place in February 2008 and in the same month was held the championship and the Cup of Russia in gymnastics, which was attended by the strongest athletes of Russia, candidates for the Olympic team of Russia

In the second half of 2009 it is planned to open the second stage of the sports Palace. It includes a modern fitness center with a total area of 1700 m2, with two rooms-aerobics and athletic training; two swimming pools. One swimming pool (50 m*25 m) is designed for swimming. The second one is for water jumping(24х22 m). The swimming pools will be attended by pupils of sports schools in swimming and diving, water aerobics classes will be held. The rest of the time will be used for family visits and recreation of residents. Also, the second stage will include restaurants of Russian and Italian cuisine for 100 seats each and a medical center.

At the sports Palace "Burtasy" there is a comfortable hotel with 105 rooms, including rooms of different categories.

The rooms-comfortable furniture, refrigerator, plastic panoramic Windows, wireless Internet (WI-FI). Bathrooms are equipped with shower cabins, comfortable baths, modern plumbing, bath accessories and cosmetics.

And in conclusion, I would like to note that the Palace of sports "Burtas" is a unique complex, which has no analogues neither in Russia nor in Europe. The visit of President Vladimir Putin and 1st Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev to the "Burtas" Palace of culture at the opening ceremony of the year of the Family in Penza region in January 2008 was significant. Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev appreciated the new sports complex and confirmed the undeniable prospects for its development in the future.
