Biography

Born in the family of Peter Rowling, engineer and Anne Rowling July 31, 1965.

When Joan was four years old, the family moved to a nearby village Winterbourne.

Rowling studied at St. Michael's Primary School.

In 1982, Rowling did not pass the entrance exams to the University of Oxford and entered the University of Exeter.

After a year of study in Paris, Rowling graduated from Exeter in 1986 moved to London

In Portugal, Rowling met Jorge Arantishem. They were married on October 16, 1992, and their July 27, 1993 was born a child, Jessica Isabel Rowling.

The couple broke up November 17, 1993.

In 1995, Rowling completed the manuscript of the novel "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."

Continuation of the first novel, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", was published in July 1998.
