What is global environmental problems?

• Global environmental problems - is the environmental problems that go beyond individual countries or regions, and specific to the world at large, unresolved, can result in irreversible degradation of humanity

Types of global environmental problems:

• the disappearance of some species of animals and plants
• destruction of forest cover
• air pollution
• depletion of the ozone layer
• pollution of natural landscapes
• water pollution

Water pollution

The planet Earth is mostly water. Oceans cover the biggest part of it and there are lakes, rivers, streams, and even water underground. All life on Earth from the little bug to the biggest whale depends on this water. It’s precious. But we are not doing a very good job of keeping water clean. In many places the water has become polluted.

What is water pollution?

• Water pollution - this lowering of its quality as a result of contamination of rivers, streams, lakes, seas and oceans of the various physical, chemical, or biological agents.

Underground

• Underground water can be polluted by gasoline or other harmful liquids that seep into the ground.
• Some fertilizers and pesticides used on farms or lawns leak down through the dirt.

RIVERS AND LAKES

Rivers and lakes are polluted by garbage, or by poisonous chemicals which are dumped right into them.

Half of the lakes in the world are polluted.

THE SEAS

The seas are in danger.

The Mediterranean is already nearly dead.

The North Sea is following.

The Aral Sea in on the brink of extinction.

THE OCEANS

• The ocean, which is a home to so much life, has been used as a place to dump garbage and poisonous chemicals for a long time. It’s getting polluted.

Pollution of the river Alka

Despite the fact that our village is small, we have enough of the river pollution, particularly river Alka, which is located in the village. Car owners wash their cars in the river, as well as a bridge across the river for passenger cars, trucks larger touring the river itself.

• Also contaminate the pond residents and tourists themselves, throwing garbage there.

The river poured waste from the factory "Sayanskhimplast" and the chemical composition of the water is still no one checked, but the observations of local residents and fishermen each year the fish population is greatly reduced.

How to solve the problem of water pollution?

Solution:

1) Reduction due to improved technology, water consumption in general and, as a consequence - the volume of pollution as well as the development of clean technologies;

2) Waste water treatment.

Cleaning methods can be divided into mechanical, chemical, biological, although this division is to some extent arbitrary.
