A guide-book around town Ardatov

The object of the reasearch

• The purpose of my work is to attract the attention of people from other countries to their native land, saying in the English language the information about the geographical location, nature, history, to describe the route and develop the guide-book around Ardatov and Ardatovskiy district .
• Tasks:
• 1) to collect and compile information about the history and natural environment of our native town;
• 2) to enrich the knowledge about the sights of the area;
• 3) to create the booklet;

Hypothesis: Run the project and finished the designing of the guide-book, I find out more information about my native land. I’ll be able to talk about it in English, that will convince my classmates and the students of my school that our district and town are worth of knowing not only in our country, but also abroad.

The history of town Ardatov

Ardatov is one of the oldest towns in Mordovia and has an interesting, original story. It is located on the banks of the River Alatyr. The first mention about Ardatov dates back to 1624, to the year, when the settlement was called Pichevele. The record states that there is a Mordovian population there and it is mainly engaged in agriculture. There is a new name of the village in next census in 1671 . It is Ardatovo.

The origin of the name of our town is explained in different ways. The most popular legend reads: "It comes from the name of Mordvin Ordatka, who held the army of Ivan the Terrible in the time of the third campaign against Kazan (1552) through the dense forests . For this important service the king gave Ordatke the land on which the settlement was founded, named after him. "

The serfdom was entered here by the end of the 17th century, people were forced to convert to Orthodoxy.The Holy Trinity Church was built in the village in 1688, and for a while it got the name of the village Novotroitskoye. Ardatov became a town and got the old name by which it is known today in 1780. At that time there lived about 500 people.

Conclusion

After some investigation by my hometown, I looked at it from the other side. Our district and town have so many attractions. What a deep history they have! How many still unexplored objects left! They say correctly, people love their Motherland not because for its big size, but for the fact that it is their own. Ardatov has its own history, its attractions, its production, its own heroes. Every citizen should be aware of it and hand down knowledge from generation to generation.

As a result of my research it was designed the guide-book around Ardatov and Ardatovskiy district with the description of the most interesting places and facts for guests.
