HYDROLOGICAL CYCLE
HYDROSPHERE
is a water layer of Earth
creeks
rivers
seas
&
oceans
rivers
A cycle is a repeating system in which the end of the system becomes the beginning when the cycle repeats.
Evaporation is the process by which water changes from a liquid to a vapor/gas.
in the atmosphere
at home
Condensation is the process by which a vapor/gas changes to water.
Condensation: molecules of water are cooled; lose their heat energy; join to form droplets
Evaporation: molecules of water are heated by sun
Precipitation is the process when water falls from the sky.
hexagon
(6 sides)
The droplets freeze into crystals (snowflakes)
SLEET
snow that partially melts as it falls
HAIL
A hailstorm is heavy enough to overcome the updraft and fall to Earth
Water drops are frozen to form sleet
Hail is formed in thunderstorm clouds with updrafts
Raindrops are raised by updraft
Moisture in the air condenses on cold objects, such as grass, ground, cars, etc.

LAKES are bodies of water surrounded by land
The Caspian Sea is the largest lake in the world and in Kazakhstan.
The Loch Neagh (Northern Ireland) is the largest lake in the UK.
The Superior Lake is the largest lake in the USA.
Lake Galilee/The Galilee Sea/Lake of Tiberias is full of fish because water is constantly flowing into and out of the lake.
SEAS are bodies of salt water surrounded entirely or partially by land
The Sargasso Sea is the largest sea in the world.
The Dead Sea has no life in it because of great amount of salt in it.
OCEANS are bodies of salt water that compose much of a planet's hydrosphere
