Lesson Theme: “To be or not to be a vegetarion?”

Objectives: “Pupils will be able to use the second meaning of the Present Perfect Continuous in their speech.”
Organization moment: Greeting with the class: “Good morning boys and girls! How are you? What is the date today? I am very glad to see you! Who is on duty today? Who is absent today? OK now let’s begin our lesson! Are you ready for the lesson?”
Checking-up homework: “Tell me please what was your homework? Did you do?” Their homework ex. 11 p.18. Let’s start check up your homework!
Presentation: “Present Perfect Continuous (The Second Meaning).” “Today we will speak about the second meaning of the Present Perfect Continuous. It shows an activity with a result in the present. With the help of word “because” we can recognize the second meaning of the Present Perfect Continuous. For example: I’m exhausted because I’ve been working all day. There are some verbs that have the idea of a long time and they are: to wait, to work, to run, to swim. For example: I’ve been working since I let school. There are some verbs that don’t have the idea of along time: to buy, to break, to lose, to find, to start. We can’t use these verbs in the Present Perfect Continuous. For example: I have lost my passport.”
Practice: “ Now you will do some exercises. Open your books on page 24 and do ex. 12.
Production: “And now you should make up your own sentences using the new grammatical material.”
Homework: Put down your homework ex. 11 p.23

Обобщить лексический и грамматический материал, изученный по данной теме.

A visit to the doctor
Once an old gentleman came to consult a doctor. “What do you complain of?” – asked the doctor. “You see, doctor, my nervous system is in a bad state. I have a heartache, often headache and my sleep isn’t good. Sometimes I cannot sleep all night long.” The doctor examined the patient very carefully and said: “Your treatment will be very simple, is other words it will be arest-cure. You should go to a quiet place in the village for a month and have an active rest there: get up early, do morning exercises, have breakfast and go for a walk. You should walk much, go to the forest for fresh air, eat much fruit and vegetables and drink milk before going to bed. And you can smoke only one cigarette a day. A month later the gentleman came to see the doctor again. “How are you?”– asked the doctor. “I am quite well now,” –answered the patient – “I’ve done everything that you recommended me, doctor. I strictly followed all your orders. I walked much, ate much fruit and vegetables and drank milk before going to sleep. But one cigarette a day almost killed me.” “But why?” –asked the doctor. “It’s not a joke to begin smoking at my age, I had never smoked before,” –answered the gentleman.
