Teacher asks learners:

1. if they are living or non-living things

2. if their pets are living or non-living things

3. if plants living or non-living things

Learners answer to the teacher’s questions according to their knowledge about what is living thing.

Teacher presents learners a presentation “Living things”. Learners from the presentation get know the differences between living and non-living things.

Task 1

Learners work in pairs. Teacher gives each pair names:

1. Breathing

2. Movement

3. Growth

4.Respiration

5.Nutrition


Teacher gives learners to watch a video about living things and non-living things

Teacher gives learners a list of questions according to the name of a pair.

Learners in pairs answer to the questions.

When pairs finish answer to the questions they read answer to class.

Descriptor:

  1. answer to the questions according to definite characteristic


Task 2

  1. “Two columns” Teacher gives learners worksheets with task.

  2. Learners write into two columns living and non-living things.

After finishing this task teacher shows correct answers.

Learner checks his answers and writes amount of correct answers.

Descriptor:

  1. define living and non-living things correctly

If learner gives right answer, teacher gives him a picture of living thing.

Task 3

“Venn diagram” Teacher divides learners into three groups according to their knowledge .

  1. Teacher gives learners a task to make a Venn diagram. Learners should compare plants, animals and human beings

  2. 1 group. Learners compare needs.

  3. 2 group. Learners compare needs and habitat.

  4. 3 group. Learners compare needs, habitat and habits.

  5. After doing a task learners exchange their works.

2. Write 5 or more points of needs

3. Write 3 or more points of habitat

Groups asses each other according to descriptors.
