Lesson plan

Date: 02-12-2015 year

Form: 6th form

Theme: Grammar revision.

Aims: - to revise much/many, some/any, a lot of, a few/a little, would you like …?

  • To develop pupils’ listening and speaking, writing, reading and vocabulary skills;

  • To raise pupils’ abilities on conversation;

Visual aids: cards, postcards, fruits, textbook.

The type of the lesson: Demonstrative lesson

The methods of the lesson: dialogue, cluster, group work, reflex.

The Procedure of the lesson:

  1. Organization moment:

  • Good afternoon, pupils!

  • How are you?

  • How is your mood?

  • Who is on duty today?

  • Who is absent?

  • What was your home task?

  • Are you ready?

  1. Brainstorming:

  • What are some and any? And when do we use them?

  • What are much and many? And when do we use them?

  • What are a few and a little? And when do we use them?

  • What is “would you like…?”?

  1. Checking up the home task:

to read the dialogues. The dialogues were given for homework for learning by heart and act out. (The teacher gives a gold coin for 5, a silver coin for 4 and bronze coin for 3 to evaluate pupils.)

  1. 1st task: Pupils are divided into two groups by choosing fruits in box. There are hold two apple trees for two groups. There are some new vocabulary questions written on apples. And pupils should find their translations.

2nd task: Groups make a cluster by the topic “Food”.



3rd task: Work with textbook. Exercise4. on page 163. Complete the sentences with much or many.

  1. We don’t need many eggs.

  2. Is there much milk in the tea?

  3. I didn’t know many people at the party.

  4. I don’t have many English books.

Exercise2. Complete the sentences with a little, a few or a lot of.

  1. I have a few friends. Two or three.

  2. He has a little money. He is a famous actor.

  3. “Do you take sugar in coffee?” “Just a little”.

  4. “Have you got a lot of CDs?” “Hundreds”.

  5. It takes a lot of minutes.

  6. She speaks good Kazakh. But only a little in Russian.

  1. Warm-up: Sing a song “If you are happy”.

  2. Giving home task.

  3. Evaluating.

  4. Reflex. Pupils write their opinions and suggestions about this lesson.
