 Mixed Conditionals

The aims and objectives of the lesson:

a) educational

to consolidate the  grammar theme and to introduce the active words, to enrich pupils vocabulary by reading the text and give some information about the electoral system in Britain

b) developing

to develop pupils` reading,speaking,auding,writing habits

c) cultural

to teach pupils to love their country and traditions

The type of the lesson:

Mixed

The kind of the lesson:

mastering a new theme

The methods of the lesson:

explaining,speaking,discussing etc.

Visual aids of the lesson:

scheme,cards

Interdisciplinary relation:

Russian,Kazakh.

The procedure of the lesson:

The pupil on duty will answer the teacher`s questions

ІІ. Teacher’s talk with the pupils on the theme ‘Electoral System in  Great Britain’

-Do you know the word elect ?

-Do you know the word election ?

-Do you know the word electoral? ?

-Do you know the word to vote?

What qualities should you look for when you vote for someone:

-his family background

-his profession

-his party membership

-personality

-education

-honesty

-languages

-age

-responsibility

-imagination

Pupils will answer the teacher’s questions

Pupils give their own variants:

-his family background

-his profession

-his party membership

-personality

-education

-honesty

-languages

-age

-responsibility

III. Explaining new material

a) work on new concepts

The teacher will consolidate with  the pupils the  grammar theme

   Mixed Conditionals

Future -> Present

Pupils will listen to the teacher then they will copy sentences in their copybooks

b) tasks for the development of  cognitive abilities

The teacher will give the sentences missing the verbs

Past and Present

  • If my father/ to lose/ his keys, we/to wait/ until he finds them.
    But my father lost his keys and therefore we have to wait until he finds them.
  • If I /to install/ an anti-virus, my computer /to be/ so slow now.
    But I didn't install an anti-virus and therefore my computer is so slow now.
  • If our house /to break/into, we /to be/ very sad.
    But our house wasn't broken into and we aren't sad.

Past and Future

  • If our house /to break/ into, we /to call/ the police.
    But our house wasn't broken into and we are not going to call police.
  • If we /to win/ the lottery last week, we /to buy/ a new sofa today.
    But we didn't win the lottery and we are not going to buy a new sofa today.

Present and Past

  • If I /to be/ smarter, I/to  graduate/ from Stanford.
    But I am not smarter and therefore I didn't graduate from Stanford.
  • If Mary /not to be/ a snob, she/not to have/had so many parties this year.
    But Mary is a snob and therefore she had so many parties this year.

Present and Future

  • If you/to be/ more eloquent, you /to become/ a politician.
    But I am not more eloquent and I won't become a politician.
  • If you / to have /more time, I/to go/ to the cinema with you.
    But you don't have more time and I won't go to the cinema with you.

The teacher will explain to the pupils how to do the exercises
