Ход мероприятия:

I. Ведущий: Good afternoon, boys and girls. Glad to see you! Welcome to our cross-cultural quiz show!

You will have several tasks and for completing every task each team will get a certain number of points. The winner will be awarded small souvenirs and the most active of you will get good marks.

First, we’ll choose the name and the captain for every team.

Ученики: придумывают названия команд, связанные с темой и выбирают капитанов, представляют команды.

Ведущий: Our first task is to decide, which team will be the first to answer. Each team has a card with crossword. (Приложение 1) Each word here starts with “C”, mind it. Now look at the presentation! And do it as fast as you can!

На презентации появляются картинки с номерами. Называя, что изображено на картинках, ученики заполняют кроссворд. Команда, которая справилась первой, называет кодовое слово, зашифрованное в центральном столбике кроссворда.

3. Ведущий: The next contest of the game is called “The ABC game”. Kids, you’ll get some letters from the English alphabet. In one minute you are to put the letters in the right order, so as to get the name of the English-speaking country. Each team can get 5 points.

4. Ведущий:: And the 2nd contest will start. It is called “A magic 5”. Look at the square, each team will take turns in answering questions. You’ll choose any number. “ …”, it’s your turn to start. Captains will choose the number.

You can get 5 points for the right answer.

7. Ведущий: Our next contest is called “Proverbs and sayings”. Each team will get a list of words. You should put the words in the right order so as to make up a proverb. You have 2 minutes at your disposal and can get 3 points for this assignment.

5. Ведущий: Great job! And the last part of our competition! Look at the presentation! It is the poem, but it is incomplete. Fill the gaps! The team that makes it quicker wins. Is it clear?

6. Ведущий: The following task is for the rest . I invite 1 pupil from each team. You should read the tongue-twister as quickly as you can 3 times.

7. Ведущий: And now we are going to entertain! You know the “Crocodile” game, I’m sure. Let’s play! It’s easy: I give you a card with a word and you show it without speaking. Your classmates should guess.

Ученики жестами и движениями показывают слова (Double-decker, raven, Big Ben, tea, Queen, guardian, kilt).

III.Ведущий: The competition is over. It’s right the time to count the score. Before we announce the result, let’s enjoy a little! You know a lot about Great Britain, but let’s learn something new about that country, some interesting facts. You have the list of facts on the desk, read in turn!

Ученики: берут карточки со списком интересных фактов, зачитывают их по очереди.
